Privacy Policy

Last updated October 28, 2026 · Terms of Use

The short version

Sports Card Alpha is run by Panthersville Athletic Club, LLC, a Georgia company. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Here is what matters most:

  • We collect very little: your email, your password (kept only in scrambled form), your name if you add one, the cards you save, and your plan.
  • The numbers you type into the calculator are used to work out your answer and are not kept, unless you save the card.
  • Stripe handles payments. We never see your card number.
  • If you watch cards for live deals, we send eBay their search words, never your name, email or account.
  • We don't sell your information or share it for advertising. There are no ad trackers, no analytics companies and no cookies in the app.
  • You can download your information or delete your account yourself, at any time, from your account page.
  • A grading result you share as a reveal is public. You choose to share each one, and can take it down any time.
  • The photo check's photos never leave your device. If you save a check to a card you send, we keep only its centering numbers and your answers.

Questions about privacy: info@graderoihq.com.

1. Who we are and what this policy covers

In short: This policy covers the Sports Card Alpha app, our website and our emails.

Sports Card Alpha is provided by Panthersville Athletic Club, LLC, a Georgia limited liability company ("Sports Card Alpha," "we," "us," or "our"). We decide how your information is used, and we're responsible for it.

This policy covers the app at app.graderoihq.com, our website and the emails we send. It doesn't cover other websites we link to, such as graders' price lists, or Stripe's checkout and billing pages, which have their own policies.

2. What we collect

In short: Your account details, the cards you save, your plan, and a little technical information to keep accounts safe.

What you give us

  • Your email address, your password, and your name if you add one. We store your password only as a one-way hash, which can't be turned back into the password.
  • If you change your email, the new address until you confirm it (we send it a link, and tell your old address once it changes).
  • What you send with the Feedback button: what you write, whether it's a bug or an idea, a screenshot if you add one, the page you were on and your browser type, and, if you're signed in, your name, email address and account number. A screenshot shows whatever was on your screen in the Sports Card Alpha page, so leave it out if anything private is showing.
  • The cards you save: the name you give each card and the numbers in the calculator when you saved it, such as the price you paid, sale prices by grade, grade odds, the grader and service level, shipping and selling costs, your target and the number of cards.
  • The cards you log in your grading results: the card's name, the grader and service level, when you sent it and got it back, the grade and cert number on the label, and, if you add them, which card it is in the sets we've loaded, your chance of a 10 when you sent it, what it cost and what it sold for.
  • Whether you share a result as a reveal, and whether to show your first name with it.
  • If you save a photo check to a card you log: how centered the front and back measured (the worse side's split, like 56/44), your answers about the corners, edges and surface, the best grade the check allowed at the grader you chose, and when you saved it. Never the photos.
  • Whether to show you on the best callers board.
  • For the cards you watch for live deals: the words to search eBay for, the words to leave out, whether to include auctions, the sales tax rate you pay, and when you started watching.
  • Messages you send us by email, and anything you include in them.

What's created as you use Sports Card Alpha

  • Your plan, when you joined, whether your email is confirmed, and, if you have it, when you got the founding price.
  • When we email you a link to confirm your email or reset your password, the link carries a random code. We keep only a scrambled (hashed) form of it, and it stops working after 7 days for email confirmation or 60 minutes for a password reset.
  • Your sign-in token, kept in your browser so you stay signed in (section 5).

What we get from others

If you sign in with Google, Google tells us your name, your email address, whether Google has confirmed that email, and a number that identifies your Google account to us. We never see your Google password, and we don't get your contacts or anything else from your Google account.

When you start or change a paid plan, Stripe tells us whether your payment went through, the plan and price you pay, your renewal and end dates, and the customer and subscription IDs it gives you. Your card details go straight to Stripe.

What we see from everyone who uses Sports Card Alpha

  • When you use the calculator or the pop report helper, the numbers you type are sent to our servers to work out the answer. We don't keep them unless you save the card.
  • To slow down password guessing, our servers count recent sign-in, sign-up and password reset attempts by IP address and email address. These counts are kept in memory for no more than an hour and are never written to our database.
  • Like most websites, our servers keep logs that include IP addresses, for a short time (section 7).

We don't collect your location, contacts, photos or anything else from your device. The photo check works on your photos inside your browser: only the positions of the lines you set are sent to our servers to measure the centering, and the photos are never uploaded or saved.

3. How we use it

In short: To run Sports Card Alpha for you, keep it safe, handle billing, and send the emails your account needs.

We use your information to:

  • work out the calculator's answers, save your cards and recheck them against today's grader prices;
  • search eBay for the cards you watch and work out which listings still reach your target;
  • create and run your account, and let you sign in, including with Google;
  • read and answer what you send with the Feedback button, and fix what it reports;
  • handle your plan with Stripe, including founding places, renewals, plan changes and cancellations;
  • send the emails your account needs (section 6);
  • keep Sports Card Alpha secure, stop fraud and abuse, and fix problems;
  • count things like how many members are on each plan and how many founding places are taken;
  • turn members' grading results into combined numbers that anyone can see, such as how many days each grader's service level really takes, how members' copies of a card graded, how members' cards graded at each grader, and how often the photo check's grade held against the grade that came back at each grader. A number shows only once at least 5 cards from at least 3 members are counted, and never with a name or a cert number;
  • show the results you choose to share on the public Reveals page (see "Reveals" in section 4); and
  • meet our legal obligations, and enforce our Terms of Use.

We don't use your information for advertising, and we don't use it to train AI models.

4. Who we share it with

In short: Only with companies that help us run Sports Card Alpha, with eBay for the cards you watch, and when the law requires it. We don't sell it.

Companies that help us run Sports Card Alpha

These service providers handle information only to provide their services to us, under contracts that limit what they can do with it.

CompanyWhat they do for usWhere
Amazon Web ServicesHosting, our database, and sending email. AWS scans outgoing email to block spam and malwareUnited States (Northern Virginia)
StripePayments and subscription managementUnited States and other countries
Our feedback service providerReceives and stores what you send with the Feedback button, so we can read and answer itUnited States
OpenAI and GoogleSort and summarize Feedback reports, screenshot included, so the urgent ones are seen firstUnited States
GoogleSign in with Google, if you use itUnited States and other countries

Stripe handles payments on our behalf, and also uses some payment information for its own purposes, such as preventing fraud and meeting legal requirements. Stripe collects information about your device when you pay so it can spot fraud. Its privacy policy explains how. Your card number goes straight to Stripe, and we never see or store it.

eBay, for live deals

When you watch a card, our server sends eBay its search words and the most the card can cost, to find listings. The searches come from Sports Card Alpha, not from you: eBay doesn't get your name, email address or account from us, and we keep the results for no more than 15 minutes. On the deals page, listing photos load straight from eBay's servers, so eBay can see your IP address and browser, as with any website's images. When you open a listing, you go to eBay's website, where eBay's privacy notice applies. Our links carry our eBay Partner Network campaign code, so eBay can pay us a commission if you buy, and nothing that identifies you.

Others

  • We may share information if we believe in good faith that the law requires it, to respond to valid legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our members, the public, or Sports Card Alpha, including to investigate fraud or abuse.
  • If we're involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may move to the new owner, who must keep honoring this policy. We'll tell you before that happens.
  • In any other case, we share it only with your permission.

Reveals, if you share them

When you tick "Share as a reveal" on a grading result, anyone can see it on our Reveals page and on the card's page: the card's name from our sets, the grader, the service level, the grade, your chance of a 10 if you added it, and the date you shared it. It says "A member" unless you tick "Show my first name", and then it shows the first word of the name on your account. A reveal never shows your cost, sale price, cert number, email or full name. Each reveal also has its own page and a picture of it, which you or anyone can share; a link to the page shows the picture as its preview. Untick "Share as a reveal", or remove the result, and it comes off the Reveals page, its own page and its picture right away, though someone may have seen or copied it before then. We can take a reveal down at any time.

The best callers board, if you join it

The best callers board ranks members by how close the chance of a 10 they expected on each card came to what came back. It's off until you tick "Show me on the best callers board" in My results, and you show up only once 10 of your cards with a chance are back. It shows the first word of the name on your account (or "A member" if there isn't one), your call score, how many calls it counts, and your average expected chance against the share of your cards that came back 10. It never shows which cards they were, what they cost or sold for, or anything else about you. Untick the box and you come off the board within a few minutes.

We don't sell or share your personal information

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for cross-context behavioral advertising (ads based on what you do on other websites), as California law defines those terms. We haven't done either in the past 12 months. We don't use your information for targeted advertising, and we don't knowingly collect, sell, or share information about anyone under 18. We don't let ad networks, data brokers, or social media pixels collect information through Sports Card Alpha, and we don't share personal information with other companies for their own direct marketing.

5. Cookies and browser storage

In short: No cookies and no trackers. We keep one item in your browser so you stay signed in.

Sports Card Alpha uses no cookies. It keeps this item in your browser's local storage:

ItemWhat it's forHow long
graderoi-tokenKeeps you signed inUp to 30 days, or until you sign out

Signing out removes it, and so does clearing your browser's data for app.graderoihq.com.

When you press "Log this card as sent" on the photo check, the check's numbers and answers (never the photos) wait in this tab's session storage, under groi-photo-check, until you save or cancel the card or close the tab.

There are no advertising or social media pixels, no analytics companies, no session recording, and no fonts or scripts loaded from other companies' servers. The one exception is the deals page, where listing photos load from eBay's servers (section 4). Stripe's checkout and billing pages are on Stripe's own website and use Stripe's own cookies, which its privacy policy covers.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Because we don't sell or share personal information, don't use it for targeted advertising, and don't track you across other websites, there's nothing for these signals to switch off. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of sale and sharing, which already applies to everyone.

6. Emails

In short: We send the emails your account needs, and deal alerts, the morning list or the weekly reveals email only if you switch them on. No tracking.

We send account emails, such as the link to confirm your email, password reset links, and notices about your plan, price changes, or changes to our terms or this policy. These are part of having an account, so they don't have an unsubscribe link.

If you're on the Investor plan and switch on deal alerts in your account, we email you once a day when the cards you watch have new eBay listings under your price. We remember which listings we sent for 30 days so we don't send them twice. Every alert has a link that stops them, and you can also switch them off in your account.

If you're on Pro or Investor and switch on the morning list, we recheck your saved cards each morning against that day's grader prices and email you only when one changed: its walk-away price moved by 5% or more, or it crossed the price you saved. To spot a change we keep each saved card's last walk-away price with the card. Every list has a link that stops it, and you can also switch it off in your account.

If you switch on the weekly reveals email in your account, we email you on Mondays with the grades members shared on the Reveals page that week. It's the same public information the page shows, and a week with no reveals sends nothing. Every email has a link that stops it, and you can also switch it off in your account.

We don't send other newsletters or marketing emails. If we start, they'll go only to people who choose them, and each one will have an unsubscribe link.

Our emails have no open or click tracking: no tracking pixels and no tracked links. We don't sell or rent email addresses.

7. How long we keep it

In short: As long as your account exists, unless you delete things sooner. After you delete your account, we delete your information, apart from a few records we must keep.

InformationHow long we keep it
Account details and saved cardsUntil you delete them or your account. We don't yet delete inactive accounts on our own.
Your plan and our copy of your billing recordsUntil you delete your account
Billing records at StripeStripe keeps them as long as the law and its own policies require, which can be several years
Calculator numbers you don't saveWe don't keep them
Your grading results, and any photo check saved on themUntil you remove them (or take the check off with "Remove check") or delete your account
What you watch for live dealsUntil you stop watching, remove the card or delete your account
Which eBay listings we sent you in deal alerts30 days
eBay search resultsNo more than 15 minutes, in memory only
Email confirmation and password reset codesUntil used, or 7 days for confirmation and 60 minutes for a reset
A new email waiting to be confirmed, and its linkUntil you confirm or cancel it, or 24 hours
What you send with the Feedback buttonUntil the report is dealt with and we remove it, and no longer than we need it to fix what it reports
Counts of sign-in and reset attemptsNo more than an hour, in memory only
Server logsA short time, normally no more than 30 days, unless we need them longer to investigate a security problem
Database backupsBackups roll over automatically about every 7 days, so deleted information can remain in a backup for up to about a week
Emails you send usUntil you ask us to delete them, unless we must keep them for a legal reason

We may keep information longer when the law requires it, to resolve a dispute, or to stop fraud or abuse.

8. Your choices and controls

In short: You can see, download, correct, and delete your information yourself, and email us for anything else.

  • To get a file of everything tied to your account, choose Download my data on your account page.
  • Change your name or email address on your account page.
  • Stop sharing a reveal by unticking "Share as a reveal" in My results, and leave the best callers board by unticking "Show me on the best callers board".
  • Take a saved photo check off a card with "Remove check" in My results.
  • Remove a saved card from My cards, or delete your account on your account page. Deleting your account deletes your information and cancels any paid plan right away, without a refund for the rest of the period.
  • Sign out, or clear the item in section 5, at any time.

9. Your privacy rights in the United States

In short: Depending on where you live, the law gives you rights over your information. We give these rights to every Sports Card Alpha member, wherever you live in the US.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • know and access the personal information we have about you, including the categories, the sources, why we use it, and who we've disclosed it to, and get a copy;
  • get a list of the specific companies we've disclosed your information to;
  • correct information that's wrong;
  • delete your information;
  • get a portable copy in a format you can use elsewhere (the Download my data file is one);
  • opt out of the sale or sharing of your information, targeted advertising, and profiling that has legal or similarly significant effects. We don't do any of these, so there's nothing to opt out of today, but you can still ask; and
  • limit our use of sensitive personal information. We use it only as needed to provide Sports Card Alpha, so this limit already applies.

We won't treat you differently for using any of these rights.

How to ask

Use the tools in section 8, or email info@graderoihq.com with the subject "Privacy request" and tell us what you'd like. To protect your account, we'll confirm a request by asking you to reply from, or confirm through, the email address on your account. If we can't verify it that way, we may ask for a little more information, which we'll use only to verify you. We'll respond within 45 days. If we need more time, we'll tell you why, and take no more than 45 more days.

You can have someone else, an authorized agent, make a request for you. We'll ask for your signed permission (or a power of attorney), and we may ask you to confirm your identity with us directly.

If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our answer with the subject "Appeal." We'll decide within 45 days and explain why. If we still decline, we'll tell you how to contact your state attorney general.

California notice

This section is our notice at collection under the California Consumer Privacy Act. We collect the categories below from you, from your use of Sports Card Alpha, and from Stripe, for the purposes in section 3. We disclose each category only to the service providers in section 4, for those purposes. We don't sell or share any of it.

CategoryWhat it includes at Sports Card AlphaHow long we keep it
IdentifiersName, email address, account ID, IP addressWhile your account exists; IP addresses in server logs for a short time (section 7)
Customer recordsName and email addressWhile your account exists

Internet or other electronic network activitySign-in and reset attempts, and server logs of requestsNo more than an hour for attempt counts; server logs for a short time
Sensitive personal informationYour account login (email address and password)While your account exists

We don't collect precise geolocation. We use sensitive personal information only to provide Sports Card Alpha and as other California rules permit, so we don't offer a separate "limit" link. California residents can also ask us about disclosures to third parties for direct marketing ("Shine the Light"); we don't make any.

Other states

Residents of other states with privacy laws, such as Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Oregon, Texas, and others, have similar rights to access, correct, delete, and get a copy of their information, to opt out of sale, targeted advertising, and certain profiling, and to appeal our decisions. Use the same steps above. If you live in Nevada, we don't sell covered information as Nevada law defines it.

10. Children

In short: Sports Card Alpha is for adults only.

Sports Card Alpha is for people 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, including children under 13. If we learn that we have, we'll delete it and close the account. If you think a child has given us information, email info@graderoihq.com.

11. How we protect your information

In short: We use encryption and limit who can see your data, but no system is perfect.

  • Everything travels over encrypted HTTPS connections.
  • Our database is encrypted at rest by our hosting provider, AWS.
  • Passwords and email link codes are stored only as one-way hashes.
  • Every request for your saved cards and account is checked against your account, and only people who need access to help you or keep Sports Card Alpha running can see member data.
  • Changing or resetting your password signs you out everywhere else.
  • Our service providers are bound by contracts that limit what they can do with your information.

No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your information, we'll tell you and the authorities as the law requires. You can help: use a strong password that you don't use anywhere else, and sign out on a shared computer, since Sports Card Alpha keeps you signed in for up to 30 days.

12. Where your information is stored

In short: In the United States.

We store your information in the United States, with AWS in Northern Virginia. Stripe may process payment information in other countries, as section 4 explains. Sports Card Alpha is meant for people in the United States. If you use it from elsewhere, your information is transferred to and stored in the United States.

13. Changes to this policy

In short: We'll tell you before important changes take effect.

We may update this policy as Sports Card Alpha changes. If a change is material, we'll email you and post a notice at least 30 days before it takes effect. We won't use information we already have in a materially different way without telling you first and, where the law requires it, asking for your consent. The change log below lists every version.

14. Contact us

In short: Email info@graderoihq.com, or write to us at the address below.

For questions, requests, or complaints about privacy, email info@graderoihq.com. Email reaches us fastest. You can also write to us:
